An overall sense of hope throughout
The Eating Disorder Trap is a call to action for all professionals. It raises awareness for any reader especially those in a position to recognize eating disorders in a timely fashion. Robyn busts many myths about eating disorders, nutrition, and weight issues. She spells out the perils of delayed or missed diagnosis. Finally, it lays out the multiple medical and psychological risks of eating disorders and yet there is an overall sense of hope throughout the book.
The book is both sobering and encouraging for sufferers, families, and professionals. I have enjoyed the choice of language, the reality, the clever illustrations, the tone, and the relevancy to the context in which we live today. This book feels like a conversation with a knowledgeable and caring friend or colleague who weaves in sound advice. It is an important book to read.
