Karin Lewis, MA, LMFT, CEDS is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been recovered from Anorexia Nervosa for over 20 years and has been specializing in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders since 2005. As an established and experienced eating disorder professional, Karin Lewis’ extensive background as an eating disorder clinician, program director of several treatment programs, and her own personal recovery has made her a sought after clinician. Karin has spent her entire career helping individuals suffering from eating disorders, body image, trauma, family issues, relationship issues, depression, and anxiety.
Karin is the founder of the Karin Lewis Eating Disorder Center located in Boston, MA and is also the host of Recovery Bites, the first podcast specifically featuring clinicians who have fully recovered from an eating disorder and their experiences working in the field of eating disorder treatment.
We discuss topics including:
- Karin’s experience with having an eating disorder which led her to be a therapist
- Being able to name that as a clinician mistakes are made in session which can oftentimes come from one’s own eating disorder experience
- There are always positives and it took years to be humble in finding the positives
- Be yourself in and out of sessions
